Peter Cohen started painting when he was 17. At 18 he was drafted. In 1945 he was shipped to the Phillipines, where he joined the signal company of the 81st Division. In August, they were transported to Japan which surrendered during the voyage. As soon as he was settled he began to record his daily experiences. Several of the paintings shown here have survived being shipped back in empty shell cases, travels, shows and sales. | |||||
